Mr. Jones went to the sea for a holiday one summer, and he stayed in a cheap .
hotel, because he was not a rich man. At 7 a.m. on the first morning a woman
came and said, ‘Please get up.’ Mr. Jones hated getting up early, so he said, ‘I
don’t want to yet. I am still quite tired.’ The woman went away, but at 8 a.m.
a different one came and said to Mr. Jones, ‘Mr. Jones, please get up. We need the sheets from your bed.’ Mr. Jones still wanted to sleep, so he answered angrily , ‘Why?’
‘Because breakfast is starting,’ answered the woman, ‘and we need to put
them on our tables. They’re our table-cloths too.’
